This is a full-time salaried position. Full COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment. The director of the BHLA promotes the history and heritage of the Church of the Brethren by administering the archive and by facilitating research and the study of Brethren history. Skills and knowledge required include familiarity with Church of the Brethren heritage, theology, and polity; ability to articulate and operate out of the vision of the Church of the Brethren; familiarity with library and archival disciplines; customer service skills; research and problem-solving skills; and proficiency in Microsoft software and experience with OCLC products. Requirements include at least 3-5 years of experience in a library or archives; a master\u2019s degree in library science\/archival studies or a public history related program; extensive knowledge of Church of the Brethren history and beliefs; a graduate degree in history or theology and\/or certification by the Academy of Certified Archivists. Responsibilities include working with the treasurer and Stewardship Commission, helping to establish an annual Ministry Investment Plan, tracking district financial statistics, performing the annual district financial review and quarterly review of staff ledgers as well as annual review of special funds, serving on all fund committees, relating to Eder Financial and overseeing investments and all investment fund policies in consultation with the treasurer, assisting or consulting with the district executive in all legal matters related to district properties and congregational properties, assisting and consulting with Leadership Development for Stewardship Education, serving as staff liaison to the Germantown Trust Board and the Bucher Meeting House Committee, among other assignments. Business included a review of finances, welcoming new members to the group, saying farewell to a few who are finishing their service, going over details for the upcoming ordination renewal cycle in 2024-2025, hearing updates on queries and other district conference business, and receiving a report on some items from the recent Mission and Ministry Board meeting. This is a Church of the Brethren shipment initiated by the denomination\u2019s Service Ministries.
