The ecumenical organization Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP), of which the Church of the Brethren is a member denomination, is offering a variety of resources for acting and praying for peace in Israel and Palestine, and for gaining a better understanding of the conflict there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeacemaking in the Midst of War: Pastoral and Prophetic Response\u201d <\/strong>– On Nov. 8, join CMEP, Evangelicals 4 Justice, and Network of Evangelicals for the Middle East for an online discussion of the war in Gaza and what peace looks like in the midst of this seemingly intractable conflict, hosted by CMEP\u2019s Mae Elise Cannon and Rob Dalrymple. “Hear from Palestinian Women: ASWR Webinar”<\/strong> – A recording is available of a Nov. 2 webinar for a women’s empowerment initiative called \u201cAnd Still We Rise\u201d featuring Mae Elise Cannon, ASWR coordinator Tamar Haddad, and ASWR Leadership Team member Shireen Awwad Hilal. The three panelists discussed the urgency of CMEP’s work in the midst of the ongoing violence against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, and shared beautiful and vulnerable personal accounts of how these current circumstances have affected them and their loved ones. In addition, the women also spoke to the powerful role that women can play in peacebuilding, and praised the ASWR initiative for giving women a platform to share not only their experiences, but also their expertise.
