Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS) Unit 334 held orientation Sept. 26\u2010Oct. 4 at Camp Koinonia in Cle Elum, Wash. The time included group building, sessions with a variety of guest leaders (most of whom joined the group virtually), preparing and eating meals together, a service project, a day trip into Seattle, and a time of consecration and sending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six of the nine volunteers came from EIRENE, a long\u2010time partner organization in Germany, and another came from Canada, while two were from Church of the Brethren congregations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volunteers, their congregations or hometowns, and placement sites for the coming year are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ken Chiu<\/strong>, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to Asian Rural Institute, Tochigi-ken, Japan<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul-Joa Durt<\/strong>, L\u00fcbeck, Germany, to Snowcap Food Pantry, Portland, Ore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anton Ellehnson<\/strong>, Offenburg, Germany, to SnowCap Food Pantry, Portland, Ore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lisa Lauterbach<\/strong>, Nuremberg, Germany, to WATER, Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jasper Neddermeyer<\/strong>, Herford, Germany, to La Puente Home, Alamosa, Colo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pauline Schick<\/strong>, Bad Oeynhausen, Germany, to Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center, Little Rock, Ark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anou Sethi<\/strong>, Leipzig, Germany, to Camp Stevens, Julian, Calif.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
