The EYN Women Development Centre in Kwarhi, Nigeria, has graduated 48 students trained in skills acquisition, meant to develop the capacity of the underprivileged women. On Aug. 18, the celebrants, parents\/guardians, and well-wishers converged at the Headquarters of Ekklesiyar Yan\u2019uwa a Nigeria (EYN, the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria), at the International Conference Centre at Kwarhi, in support of the annual occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of the proprietor, director of the Women\u2019s Fellowship (ZME) Suzan Mark Zira in her address thanked Mission 21, who sponsored all the starting material. She also thanked all ZME groups at various District Church Councils for their cooperation towards running the center, meant to empower the less privileged girls with emphasis on orphans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The principal of the Women Development Centre, Ruth Ishaya, welcomed everyone to the ceremony. In her speech, she said, \u201cWe want to urge you to go and be our advertising letters that will speak for the Women Development Centre and the EYN entirely in your life style and activities. Don\u2019t go and be careless with the knowledge you acquired from this centre.\u201d She also congratulated the graduates and wished them success in life.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Please pray… <\/strong>For the 48 young women who graduated from the EYN Women Development Centre, that they may be blessed by God with success in their lives.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mary A. Buggi, who delivered a sermon during the event, read Acts 9:36-32 in which she admonished the celebrants, \u201cHow can you use your talent to benefit others?\u201d She also encouraged them to honor the name of the Lord through their skills, saying, \u201cLaziness is not of God, so avoid procrastination, especially the vulnerable ones among you. Don’t wait to be helped but help yourself and others, because we are meant to serve humanity. Use your hands to demonstrate love.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students staged a drama portraying the importance of skill acquisition in self-sustenance among girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good will messages were brought forth by various dignitaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The candidates were presented with items to help them start earning their livelihoods, which included but were not restricted to knitting machines, sewing machines, cake pans, and other kits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
