At this year\u2019s Associated Church Press convention, the Church of the Brethren\u2019s Messenger<\/em> magazine won four awards including the James Solheim Award for Editorial Courage, Award of Excellence, for \u201cIf Only that Were True\u201d by Gimbiya Kettering, published in the Sept. 2022 issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCongratulations to all the winners and entrants of the 2022 Associated Church Press \u2018Best of the Church Press\u2019 awards,\u201d said the ACP announcement of the award winners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis year’s contest had 728 entries from 58 organizations across 78 categories. Over 40 judges–all professionals in journalism, design, theology and communication–made the difficult decision needed to select the best entries.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ACP gives three levels of awards: honorable mention, equivalent to third place; award of merit, equivalent to second place; and award of excellence, equivalent to first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Messenger<\/em> received two awards of excellence and two awards of merit, in four different categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
