Photo by Glenn Riegel<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>save the day at the opening worship of National Youth Conference.<\/p>\n<p>Our district has 22 representatives at NYC: 15 youth, 2 staff, and 5 chaperones.\u00a0At the opening worship service, two representatives from each district paraded forward to the stage carrying vessels illuminated with battery lights.\u00a0Atlantic Southeast&#8217;s representatives carried an aluminum drinking water pitcher with a cross cut into the side.<\/p>\n<p>The pitcher was from Camp Ithiel and was one of those that served for many years in the old dining hall.\u00a0The rest\u00a0have\u00a0since been replaced by plastic pitchers, but this one has\u00a0found a new life of service.\u00a0Inside the pitcher were multiple-battery powered votive candles that had been leftover from a wedding reception at the camp.<\/p>\n<p>The original thinking was to have many lights in our district vessel, to\u00a0make it as bright as possible.
