The online event takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 8 p.m. (Eastern time). Participants may earn 0.1 continuing education units.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-background has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#e8edf2\"><em><strong>Please pray\u2026 <\/strong>For all who participate in this webinar, that they may learn valuable skills for helping the children in their care.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNearly half of all children have experienced a traumatic event in their lives,\u201d said a description of the webinar. \u201cThese experiences have the potential of altering the ways children view the world and themselves, and these impacts can last well into adulthood. However, this is not the end of the story. Communities and supports can and do provide care that can shift outcomes and change lives. In this presentation, we will define trauma and its effects and learn resources and ways of being to build resilience and hope.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Presenter <strong>Jon-Erik (J.E.) Misz<\/strong>, who is currently secretary for the Anabaptist Disabilities Network board, works in Goshen, Ind., as a licensed clinical social worker and clinical supervisor in a community health center. He holds a master of social work degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a master of divinity from Duke University.
