The Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS) Summer Unit 331<\/strong> held orientation at Camp Wilbur Stover in New Meadows, Idaho, from Aug. 9 through Aug. 17, the first time BVS orientation has been hosted at the camp. It was also the largest in-person orientation group since the pandemic started, said Pauline Liu, coordinator of volunteers for BVS. The 10 volunteers included five from EIRENE, a partner organization based in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are the volunteers in Unit 331,<\/strong> their hometowns and\/or congregations, and their project placements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lucas Kohler Caravaca<\/strong> of Berlin, Germany will be serving at SnowCap in Fairview, Ore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grace Elliott<\/strong> of Fort Littleton, Pa., will be serving at the Brethren Nursery School in Rwanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Franka Evers<\/strong> of Bochum, Germany will be serving at Abode Services in Fremont, Calif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Billy Harness<\/strong> of North, Liberty, Ind., who is from the North Liberty Church of the Brethren, also will be serving at SnowCap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moritz Hinner<\/strong> of Winningen, Germany will be serving at Highland Park Elementary School in Roanoke, Va.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Benjamin Hoffmann<\/strong> of Pfullendorf, Germany will be serving at Ferncliff in Little Rock, Ark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martha Hummer<\/strong> of Jonestown, Pa., who is from Annville (Pa.) Church of the Brethren, will be serving with Brethren Disaster Ministries at the rebuilding project in Waverly, Tenn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lena Lippert<\/strong> of Altena, Germany also will be serving with Abode Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virginia Rendler<\/strong> of North Manchester, Ind., who is from Manchester Church of the Brethren, will be serving at Corrymeela in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chloe Soliday<\/strong> of Saxton, Pa., who is from Stone Church of the Brethren in Huntingdon, Pa., is awaiting her project placement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
