A note about \u201cZoombombing\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent days, some public Zoom meetings have been hacked by people intending mischief and disruptions. This is called \u201cZoombombing\u201d and in light of it, direct links to Zoom worship services will no longer be listed on this page. You are invited to contact the church directly for information about how to connect with Zoom worship services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Chicago Tribune” has offered the following tips to prevent hacking of Zoom meetings, gleaned from the FBI, Zoom, and other experts (find the full article at www.chicagotribune.com\/coronavirus\/ct-coronavirus-zoombombing-20200401-wf2pvzqhbngitankuokvinvk2m-story.html<\/a> ). For detailed instructions from Zoom about how to prevent \u201cgate crashers\u201d see https:\/\/blog.zoom.us\/wordpress\/2020\/03\/20\/keep-uninvited-guests-out-of-your-zoom-event<\/a> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

— You may keep meetings private by requiring a meeting password. Additionally, the \u201cWaiting Room\u201d feature can help hosts control who enters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

— Do not share invitations to Zoom meetings on social media. Instead, send the meeting information directly to attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

— Use a random meeting ID so it can\u2019t be shared multiple times. This is safer than a \u201cPersonal Meeting ID.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

— Change screensharing settings to \u201cOnly Host\u201d so no one but the host can control the screen and the host can mute participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

— Lock a Zoom session that has already begun so no one else can join by clicking \u201cParticipants\u201d in the bottom of a Zoom window, then clicking \u201cLock Meeting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

— Remove participants by hovering over their name in the Participants menu and clicking the \u201cRemove\u201d option. The removed participant will not be allowed back in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

— Make sure you have the most updated version of Zoom software, in which a security update added default passwords and disabled the ability to scan for meetings to join.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
