She shared stories of her recent journeys to Columbia and the Philippines to learn about the circumstances that oppress communities of women and minority populations.<\/p>\n<p>Brubaker is the author of &#8220;She Hath Done What She Could: A History of Women\u2019s Participation in the Church of the Brethren&#8221; and &#8220;Globalization at What Price: Economic Change and Daily Life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The luncheon nicely dovetailed Brubaker\u2019s stories of global peace and justice concerns with the lifetime peacemaking efforts and passion of the late Phil and Louise Baldwin Rieman, co-pastors of Northview Church of the Brethren in Indianapolis, who were killed in a tragic car accident last winter.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the Rieman\u2019s children, Ken and Tina, accepted the annual Friend of the Caucus Award on their parents\u2019 behalf. They also accepted stained glass pieces which were specially created for them and their sister, Cherie, based on the design of a banner from the Rieman\u2019s home which had special meaning to the children.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211;Melissa Troyer is a member of Middlebury (Ind.)
