{"id":11365,"date":"2016-06-11T00:00:03","date_gmt":"2016-06-11T00:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.brethren.org\/news\/?p=11365"},"modified":"2018-11-03T20:27:36","modified_gmt":"2018-11-03T20:27:36","slug":"ministry-of-reconciliation-manual","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.brethren.org\/news\/2016\/ministry-of-reconciliation-manual\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministry of Reconciliation Manual is Made Available Online"},"content":{"rendered":"<hr \/>\n<p><em>From an On Earth Peace release<\/em><\/p>\n<p>About a year ago, in the wake of celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Ministry of Reconciliation (MoR) as a program of On Earth Peace, program director Leslie Frye wondered if it might be worthwhile to revise the 1995 \u201cMinistry of Reconciliation Discipleship and Reconciliation Committee Handbook.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marking pencil in hand, she read it cover-to-cover and was amazed at how relevant&#8211;even inspiring&#8211;the material remained even 25 years later. \u201cPerhaps we might want to look at making additions at some point,\u201d she reflected. \u201cBut the collective wisdom still shines, so with the help of MoR Communications intern Lauren Seganos Cohen, we\u2019ve converted the document from WordPerfect to PDF files and are making them available online.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contents include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Chapter One: The Biblical and Theological Basis of Reconciliation by Dale Aukerman<br \/>\nChapter Two: Statement of Purpose for Discipleship and Reconciliation (D and R) Committees by Enten Eller<br \/>\nChapter Three: Calling of D and R Committees by Jim Kinsey<br \/>\nChapter Four: D and R Committee Training by Marty Barlow<br \/>\nChapter Five: D and R Committees as Educators by Bob Gross<br \/>\nChapter Six: Intervening in Conflict: General Guidelines by Barbara Dat\u00e9<br \/>\nChapter Seven: Intervening in Conflict: Adaptable Four-Step Model by Bob Gross<br \/>\nChapter Eight: Intervening in Conflict Comprehensive Model by Jim Yaussy Albright<\/p>\n<p>Discipleship and Reconciliation Committees pre-dated what are now called \u201cShalom Teams\u201d and the Ministry of Reconciliation&#8211;then, as now&#8211;provided primary training and support.
