Summer \u2018Guide for Biblical Studies\u2019<\/h3>\n

\u201cToward a New Creation\u201d is the theme for the summer quarter of \u201cA Guide for Biblical Studies\u201d covering the months of June, July, and August. The writer of the lessons and study questions is Jim Eikenberry, co-pastor along with his wife Sue of Mount Wilson Church of the Brethren outside of Lebanon, Pa. The author of the \u201cOut of Context\u201d column is Frank Ramirez, pastor of Union Center Church of the Brethren in Nappanee, Ind. The book is designed for a Sunday school class or small group Bible study, and offers suggestions for daily Bible reading, questions to prepare for the class, a weekly lesson, questions for studying the text together in a small group, and an \u201cOut of Context\u201d column each week. Curriculum guide for \u2018Seagoing Cowboy\u2019<\/h3>\n

A new Common Core-based curriculum guide is now available for teachers interested in using the new illustrated hard-back children\u2019s book, \u201cThe Seagoing Cowboy,\u201d as an educational resource. The book is about the experience of a \u201cseagoing cowboy\u201d who helped take livestock to a devastated Europe after World War II with Heifer Project, now Heifer International. The book is written by Peggy Reiff Miller and illustrated by Claire Ewart. The curriculum guide is developed by Leigh Courtney, Ph.D., and incorporates Common Core State Standards for literacy and math. It includes discussion questions, activities, sequencing story events, \u201cA Day in the Life of a Seagoing Cowboy\u201d activity sheet, and a \u201cHelping Here at Home\u201d chart.<\/p>\n
