After a 40-year career working at Brethren Benefit Trust (BBT), Connie Sandman has announced her retirement as of April 30, with her last working day scheduled for April 22. Sandman holds the record for longest tenured employee, said a release from BBT.

The Church of the Brethren’s Atlantic Southeast District has announced that the interim district executive position previously held solely by Victoria (Vicki) Ehret has been changed to a District Team consisting of six directors.

Emily Tyler resigns as director of Brethren Volunteer Service
Emily Tyler has resigned as director of Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS), effective Feb. 18, after three years in the position. She started as director of BVS on Feb. 4, 2019. She has been employed by the Church of the Brethren and BVS for almost 10 years, since June 27, 2012, when she began as coordinator for BVS recruitment and the Workcamp Ministry.

New laity members Art Fourman (2020-2025) and Bob McMinn (2021-2026) had plenty of time to get to know returning members, secretary Dan Rudy (clergy, 2017-2022), chair Deb Oskin (secular compensation professional, 2018-2023), Gene Hagenberger (representative of the Council of District Executives, 2021-2024), and Nancy Sollenberger Heishman (ex officio, director of the Church of the Brethren Office of Ministry).

Kim Gingerich hired as program assistant for Brethren Disaster Ministries
Kim Gingerich has been hired as program assistant for the rebuilding program of Brethren Disaster Ministries, based out of the Brethren Service Center in New Windsor, Md. She will begin in this position on Oct. 25.
Lee-Lani Wright to serve, Debbie Roberts to retire from Pacific Northwest District executive team
The Pacific Northwest District of the Church of the Brethren has called Lee‐Lani Wright, a member of the Springfield, Ore., congregation, to replace Debbie Roberts on the district’s executive team. Roberts is retiring from the team after serving in the role since 2019.
