The 2023 New and Renew Conference will focus on discipleship

By Stan Dueck

In this anxious and challenging time, are you looking for a spiritually rich and creative space to worship, learn, network, and grow? Would it be helpful to you to be in conversation with other Jesus followers who are exploring new forms of mission, church planting, and congregational revitalization?

If so, join us at the New and Renew Conference, May 17-19. New and Renew is an opportunity for pastors, church members, and district leaders of new church plants and established congregations to come together to worship, learn, and foster relationships.

The conference theme is “Disciples–Called, Equipped, and in the Neighborhood!” based on Matthew 28.16-20, John 20.19-20, and Ephesians 4.11-16.

We are excited about the leadership scheduled for the conference. The keynote presenter is Jessie Cruickshank, a licensed minister and denominational leader in the Foursquare Church. She is a demonstrated disciple-maker and a nationally recognized leader in the fields of experiential education and educational neuroscience. She holds a master’s from Harvard in Mind, Brain, and Education. She is a published author, including a collaboration with Alan Hirsch.

The three-day hybrid conference will allow you to attend in person or online. The event will be at the Church of the Brethren General Offices in Elgin, Ill., and will have more than 20 sessions approved for continuing education credit to broaden your understanding of church planting and congregational renewal. In addition to the workshops, inspirational worship, and keynotes, the storytelling and sharing will invigorate your calling and passion for ministry.

Please pray… For those planning and leading the 2023 New and Renew Conference.

Unable to attend the conference? No problem! Your registration for the event means you can access the recorded keynotes and workshops through the end of December 2023. That means you can watch the recorded presentations that are helpful for your ministry context and earn continuing education credit.

Registration has opened online at www.brethren.org/newandrenew. Cruickshank’s upcoming book Ordinary Discipleship: How God Wires Us for the Adventure of Transformation, which will be released in May, is included with the registration fee. You will have the option of receiving the book in paper form or as an e-book.

If you are looking for creative and practical ways to engage your congregation and community, then you need to attend the New and Renew Conference 2023. You don’t want to miss out on this terrific experience!
