Call to worship
by Ruth Ritchey Moore
One: Just like Martha, we have many things to do.
All: God, let us focus on you.
One: Just like Martha, we can feel the weight of responsibility on our shoulders.
All: God, let us focus on you.
One: Just like Martha, we can feel resentful of others.
All: God, let us focus on you.
One: Just like Martha, we can see injustice in the world.
All: God, let us focus on you.
One: Just like Martha, we are completely loved by God!
All: God, let us focus on you!

On Sunday, Nov. 5, Church of the Brethren congregations around the country will celebrate the leadership of their junior high youth in worship. The National Junior High Sunday theme is “Worried and Distracted,” from the story of Jesus’ visit with Martha and Mary.
To help make worship planning easier, resources like the one above are freely available at www.brethren.org/yya/jr-high-resources.
Resources include worship resources and action ideas for outside of worship. Available are a Bible study (video), two calls to worship, a benediction, a children’s story, music suggestions, an offertory prayer, a scripture jam, sermon notes, a prayer and a pastoral prayer, an invitation to give, an invocation, logos, and other creative worship elements.
