I joined members of my congregation, Agape Church of the Brethren, in one of our many outreach projects on a recent Sunday evening. We put on dinner for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House at the Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
They had a full kitchen for our use. Volunteers are required to cook everything in-house, and only prepackaged food is permitted due to the risk of communicable diseases. Dining is communal and family style, or the guests may take their meals back to their rooms. Now only do they have toys and games, including Mario Cart video games, there’s a room for toddlers to play.
A maximum of six volunteers are permitted, but Cindy, Rose, myself, and Joanna were sufficient. We served chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

Please pray… For the ministry of the Agape congregation to serve families receiving hospitality while their loved ones receive medical care.
