Jesus Lounge Ministry partners to support at-risk youth

Jesus Lounge Ministry has partnered with the Student Life Alliance in West Palm Beach, Fla., where pastor Founa Augustin Badet is the treasurer, and the Delray Beach Library “Let’s Talk Period” program to support at-risk teens and tweens with hygiene and feminine hygiene kits. The ministry is a Church of the Brethren new church start in Atlantic Southeast District.

“We have an Amazon link for donations as well as donors to support the ministry,” reported Augustin Badet. “Jesus Lounge Ministry also provides food and care packages as requested in the neighborhood, picks up donations like wheelchairs, canes, couches, chairs, and refers furniture needs to different organizations as a resource.” Services range from immigration to food stamps and Medicaid applications, resume building, and childcare applications.

“Last month, in October, we sent 50 kits (pads, underwear, soap, wipes, washcloths, toothpaste, toothbrush) with a suitcase of clothing in collaboration with KOP Mentoring and the Delray Beach Police Department for disaster relief after Hurricane Ian,” Augustin Badet said.

The Jesus Lounge Ministry hygiene kits were part of three truck-loads of supplies delivered to students on the west coast of Florida, in the hard-hit Fort Myers area. A press release about the effort said that along with the Jesus Lounge Ministry, 20-some organizations collaborated including groups such as the Atlantic High School Football Eagles, Delray Beach Public Library, Farm Share, the Florida Highway Patrol, and Habitat for Humanity South Palm Beach, , among others.

Please pray… For the at-risk youth who are being served by the Jesus Lounge Ministry’s hygiene kit project.
