Alert Regarding Fraudulent E-Mail

A fraudulent e-mail has been sent to some Brethren using a fake Hotmail account. The e-mail was sent under the name of Jay Wittmeyer, Global Mission and Service executive director, and claims to ask for funds for the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria.

This e-mail is not from Jay Wittmeyer and not from the Church of the Brethren. Please delete the e-mail and empty it from your trash folder.

For your safety regarding e-mail, social media, and other online communication:
— Do not open, click on, or respond to anything that looks questionable.
— Do not assume that messages from people you know are safe, as fraud and spam frequently are carried out under a stolen identity.
— Remember that official communications from the Church of the Brethren will not be sent to you from what looks like a private e-mail address.
