Welcome to the Church of the Brethren

We are a group of Christians committed to continuing the work of Jesus peacefully and simply, and to living out our faith in community. We have some 111,000 members in nearly 1000 congregations across the United States and Puerto Rico, with missions and sister churches in Nigeria, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Haiti, India, Spain, Venezuela, South Sudan, and the Africa Great Lakes region.

Based on the Anabaptist and Pietist faith traditions, the Church of the Brethren is one of the Historic Peace Churches. We celebrated our 300th anniversary in 2008.
