The work in Venezuela originated from the mission efforts of the Dominican Brethren. Venezuela is a promising country for a Brethren presence with 2100 members in 21 congregations. Many interested in the movement come from independent charismatic and evangelical backgrounds and are hungry for a more holistic understanding of the gospel, inspired by Anabaptist-Pietist theology. In addition, since Venezuela\u2019s economy is in shambles, the movement is inspired by the Brethren to be engaged in churches that reach out to suffering neighbors with whatever support they can provide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Iglesia de los Hermanos in Venezuela has an active evangelistic outreach to indigenous people along the Orinoco River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
