They support ministries in Burundi, Rwanda, and Uganda that are connected with Church of the Brethren denomination in each country including the Great Lakes Bible School, Farming God's Way training, and a goat and chicken farming livelihood project.<\/p><\/div><\/li><li  style=\"padding: 15px 0 25px\" class=\"rss_item\"><span class=\"title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brethren.org\/news\/2025\/edf-closes-out-year-of-grants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noopener\">Emergency Disaster Fund closes out year with large grant to Haiti following Hurricane Melissa, among others<\/a><\/span><div class=\"rss_content\" style=\"\"><p>Brethren Disaster Ministries has directed the last grants for 2025 from the Church of the Brethren\u2019s Emergency Disaster Fund (EDF) headed by a large grant of $120,000 to support the Hurricane Melissa recovery program of \u00c9glises des Fr\u00e8res d\u2019Ha\u00efti (the Church of the Brethren in Haiti) and $5,000 to support emergency relief in Cuba after Hurricane Melissa via ASIGLEH (the Church of the Brethren in Venezuela).<\/p><\/div><\/li><li  style=\"padding: 15px 0 25px\" class=\"rss_item\"><span class=\"title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brethren.org\/news\/2025\/meeting-plans-for-needs-in-s-sudan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noopener\">Church of the Brethren staff and leaders meet in Uganda to plan for increased humanitarian needs in South Sudan<\/a><\/span><div class=\"rss_content\" style=\"\"><p>Roger Schrock as former mission staff in South Sudan, Roy Winter as executive for Service Ministries and Brethren Disaster Ministries, and I traveled recently to Uganda to meet with South Sudan staff Athanasus Ungang and two of his team members* to consult on positioning for the future in South Sudan.<\/p><\/div><\/li><li  style=\"padding: 15px 0 25px\" class=\"rss_item\"><div class=\"rss_image\" style=\"height:150px;width:150px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brethren.org\/news\/2025\/faithx-registration-closes-april-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noopener\" title=\"FaithX registration closes April 1\" style=\"height:150px;width:150px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brethren.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/08\/FaithX-2-600px-150x150.gif\" title=\"FaithX registration closes April 1\" style=\"height:150px;width:150px;\"><\/a><\/div><span class=\"title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brethren.org\/news\/2025\/faithx-registration-closes-april-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noopener\">FaithX registration closes April 1<\/a><\/span><div class=\"rss_content\" style=\"\"><p>Registration for summer FaithX service trips closes on Tuesday, April 1.
