They are planners who are self-directed and want a future full of possibilities. They are planning for the life they want to lead.<\/li>\n<li>A Life Plan Community allows &#8220;planning&#8221; and &#8220;living&#8221; to merge. Having a plan in place allows for living life to the fullest.<\/li>\n<li>Although care remains an integral component of our services, we offer a wider offering for today&#8217;s seniors.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Factors to consider when selecting a Life Plan Community<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> Is the facility close to family and friends who will be visiting?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cost:<\/strong> What is included in cost of care? How are extra items billed? What is the price difference between private and semi-private rooms?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Facility certification &amp; financial matters:<\/strong> Is the facility certified by Medicare and Medicaid? How long has the facility been certified?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Specialty care available:<\/strong> Does the facility have an Alzheimer&#8217;s unit or short-term rehab wing?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Preventive care:<\/strong> Does the facility make sure residents get preventive care to keep them healthy?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cleanliness &amp; safety:<\/strong> Does the facility have a clean and safe environment?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Activities:<\/strong> What kinds of activities are offered each day for residents? Are there outings that take place for the residents?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Religious needs:<\/strong> Does the Life Plan Community offer religious support?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Employees:<\/strong> How are employees selected? Are they screened for drug use, criminal records and other potential problems?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Food:<\/strong> How does the food taste? Do the residents get a choice in what they eat?
