\u201cMembers of this Lewistown congregation have a whole lot of soul\u2013or to be more accurate, soles,\u201d said The Sentinel newspaper, reporting on the 500 pairs of shoes that Maitland Church of the Brethren<\/a> in Lewistown, Pa., has donated for Soles4Souls. The church members more than doubled their goal to collect 200. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe new or lightly used shoes were delivered to the already growing pile of shoes at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren<\/a> recently to provide relief, help create jobs, and empower people to break the cycle of poverty through the selling of shoes in developing countries,\u201d the report said. \u201cWhen 25,000 pairs are collected at Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, a truck will pick them up for delivery to Sole4Soles.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
