Mt Zion Church of the Brethren grows

Attendance at Mount Zion-Linville has nearly tripled. Church of the Brethren pastor Jonathan Prater attributes the growth to “keeping it simple and just talking about Jesus.”

La Verne Church of the Brethren offered an event exploring local housing history through displays and historical documents, inspired by a talk given by Drew G.I. Hart about his book “Who Will Be a Witness?”

Canton adds Little Library

The Canton Church of the Brethren doubled its community outreach by establishing a Little Library next to a blessing box. Members dedicated themselves to filling the library with thoughtful and inspiring materials and prayed for “the good of all who make use of its contents.”

Haxtun sews good works

Haxtun Church of the Brethren’s “Sew Blessed” group meets each week to sew items for children and older adults both locally and internationally. The group recycles donated items, from T-shirts to pillowcases, to make new clothing and other items.

Oakton connects with Tibetan families

When Oakton Church of the Brethren began a free tutoring program called Oakton Partners in Learning, some of the first families to connect were of Tibetan heritage. The connection strengthened when the program adapted to virtual tutoring during seasons of online learning.

Principe de Paz hosts Bethany study

A Bible study workshop, held in Spanish and English at Principe de Paz Iglesia de las Hermanos, considered how to describe the context in which the letter of James was written using a method in which people from different contexts share insights with one another.
