Principe de Paz Iglesia de los Hermanos in Santa Ana, Calif., hosted a Bilingual Bible Study Workshop offered by Bethany Theological Seminary as the culminating event for the January intensive “Intercontextual Readings of James.”

The class visited a variety of congregations and programs “that model practical love for neighbors in Southern California,” said a Bethany release. Then the Bible study workshop, held in Spanish and English, considered how to describe the context in which the letter of James was written using a method in which people from different contexts share insights with one another.

Daniel Ulrich, Wieand Professor of New Testament Studies, taught the class. Other leaders included Principe de Paz pastors Richard Zapata and Becky Zapata, Conexión Pasadena pastor Fernanda Navarette, and Alexia Salvatierra, academic dean of Centro Latino of Fuller Theological Seminary.
