Brethren Academy is a nursery school in a village setting on the outskirts of a small town in Rwanda, associated with the Church of the Brethren in the Africa Great Lakes region.


Job Descriptions

At Brethren Academy, the volunteer will be responsible for teaching English to children between the ages of three and five in a church-based nursery school serving the local community in northwestern Rwanda. There are also opportunities for the volunteer to interact within the local Church of the Brethren and to help young adults develop English skills.

Requirements include a willingness to learn the local language, live in a family setting, eat local food, and to live according to traditional Brethren values.
