Hit the \u201crefresh\u201d button on your browser.<\/em><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3193 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brethren.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/AWAKE_ADVENT_4-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"AWAKE_ADVENT_4\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" \/><strong><span style=\"color: #dec431\"><br \/>\nHosea 6:1-6<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>v.6:\u00a0 <em>For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00a0 the knowledge of God rather than burnt-offerings.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #9670bc\"><strong><span style=\"color: #dec431\">Question for reflection:<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span class=\"\">1 John 3:18 &#8220;This is how we <em>know<\/em> that we belong\u00a0 to the truth&#8230;.&#8221;<br \/>\n3:24 &#8220;And this is how we <em>know<\/em> that he lives in us..&#8221;<br \/>\n4:7 &#8220;Everyone who loves is born of God and <em>knows<\/em> Go<span style=\"font-size: small\">d<\/span>.&#8221;<br \/>\n4:16 &#8220;&#8230; we <em>know<\/em> and <em>rely<\/em> on the love God has for us&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>If we follow the dots and pick out just the &#8220;know&#8221; passages from the book of 1 John, we can piece together a foundation rooted in knowledge and very much, the love of God.<br \/>\nWhere have you seen people who know and rely on God&#8217;s love?<span style=\"font-size: small\"><span class=\"\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #9670bc\"><span style=\"color: #dec431\">Prayer for the day<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span id=\"en-NIV-30613\" class=\"\">Heavenly Father, thank you for the season, the reminder that you extended your love among us by sending your Son &#8211; that we might live through him. Help us develop the<\/span><span id=\"en-NIV-30613\" class=\"\"> faith to know and rely on that love.\u00a0 And as we deepen in that knowledge allow us to turn this into our own visible love, that would be evident in a dark world. With gratitude for your amazing gift, I pray.
