About Madalyn Metzger

A lifelong member of the Church of the Brethren, Madalyn Metzger grew up in the Springfield (Ill.) First Church of the Brethren, and now is a member of the Goshen (Ind.) City Church of the Brethren. She previously served on the On Earth Peace Board of Directors from 2007–2015 (board chair, 2009–2013), the Inter-Agency Forum from 2009–2013 (and again now, from 2023–present), the National Youth Cabinet from 1995–1996, the On Earth Peace Conflict Transformation Team in 1997, and the Illinois/Wisconsin District Youth Cabinet and District Board from 1993–1995.

Committed to cultivating community, Madalyn is a frequent speaker and writer on topics such as diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism; organizational and personal branding; and leadership development. As the Chief Marketing Officer for Everence Financial®, she is responsible for developing and executing the organization’s marketing philosophy, strategy and direction; and leads a national team focused on brand activation, opportunity creation, corporate communications, digital and traditional marketing, experience design, market research, and member benefits administration.

Madalyn began her career at Everence in 2005, holding several marketing positions before taking on the chief marketing role in 2016. Prior to that, she worked in fundraising communication for Church World Service, an international humanitarian aid organization providing sustainable self-help, development, disaster relief and refugee assistance around the world.

Today, she is also a member of the Manchester University (North Manchester, Indiana) Board of Trustees and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in strategic marketing for Bluffton (Ohio) University and Eastern Mennonite University (Harrisonburg, Virginia).

Madalyn holds a B.A. in interpersonal and organizational communications from Manchester University and an MBA from Bluffton University. She lives in Bristol, Indiana, with her husband, Kristopher Brownlee, and their two spoiled cats, Rigel and Mika. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, running and cycling, traveling, performing and/or listening to music, and reading in what precious free time she’s able to find.
