Dava Hensley
Faith Statement
I believe in the Almighty triune God, One God in three persons. God the creator, Jesus Savior, and Holy Spirit comforter. We are all sinners and in need of salvation. Salvation is found through our belief in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. The Bible is God’s inspired Word and humankind’s instructions for how to live out our lives as followers of Jesus’ teachings.
Vision
My vision for the Church of the Brethren is together we listen and respect each other even in our disagreements. As in our forbearance statement, when we are not of one mind, we allow ourselves to be drawn together by the Holy Spirit to be of one heart of love and compassion for all. Our mission continues to be to go and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with all persons.
Intercultural Work
I have served on the New Church Development Committee at the denominational and district level which has made it a priority to encourage and equip new church development in the Latino population. My congregation hosted a Hispanic ministry for 11 years. Together our congregations found exciting ways to minister.

Faith Statement
I believe in God as Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer of all life, as revealed in scripture and in the created world. I believe that Jesus Christ is the fullest revelation of God’s love and intention for humanity, both as One who walked, served and suffered among us, and as our Risen Lord. Amidst human choice and brokenness, I believe that God, through Christ and the Spirit, seeks to reconcile us to God and to each other, as we submit ourselves to Christ’s Lordship of our life together.

Faith Statement
I believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and the Holy Spirit. I believe Jesus Christ is the bridge to the Father and without Jesus Christ in my life I am not whole. I believe the Bible is God’s divine word placed here for all to know, learn, and understand who God is and for us to build a personal relationship with him. I believe that it is our duty as followers of Jesus Christ to share the gospel and make disciples for him. We should do this with peace and love, without judgement or anger.

Faith Statement
“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” (I John 4:16). I strive to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, as revealed in the gospels and as exemplified by the Brethren tagline “Continuing the work of Jesus. Peacefully. Simply. Together.” To me this means living agape love in service to others, reaching out to the marginalized and disenfranchised and renouncing violence while promoting peace and justice in the world.
