What will I be doing at NYC?
Every day at NYC there are 2 worship services, workshops, recreation time, service projects, hiking, small groups, late night activities and so much more! It will be a week jam packed of fun, fellowship and making new friends!
Who will my roommate be?
You will get to put down who you would like to room with and we do our best to match preferences.
Who will be in my small group?
You will be placed in a small group with youth from all over the country. Small groups can be the place where you make new friends and meet new people!
Do we have to sign up for workshops before we get to NYC?
You will get to choose what workshop you want to attend when you arrive to campus, and you don't sign up for workshops you just attend.
Is there an extra cost to go hiking and do service projects?
No, these memorable parts of NYC are free! When you register you will choose if you want to go hiking and participate in a service project.
What should I pack for NYC?
Bed linens, pillows, a blanket and shower towels will be provided in the dorms. You should pack sunscreen, a Bible, journal and pen, modest comfortable clothes and shoes, toiletries, camera, a reusable water bottle, money and items for offerings, a homemade pillow for worship, and a jacket or sweatshirt.
Advisors & Parents
I have a youth who is going to be finished 8th grade and entering 9th grade by the time NYC starts, can they attend?
The age requirement for NYC is that youth completed 9th grade through 1 year of college or the age equivalent. If you have a special situation and would like to request an age exception, please contact Becky Ullom Naugle.
My spouse and I are both going to be chaperones, can we room in the same room?
Our church only has one youth that wants to go but no one can go as their advisor, what should we do?
You can reach out to churches in your area and your district office to see if there is a possibility that your youth may go with another youth group. All youth attending must have and advisor.
I am 21 years old and want to serve as an advisor with my youth group, is this allowed?
The policy for advisors is that they be a minimum of 22 years old at the time of NYC.
What is the youth/adult ratio at NYC?
The youth to adult ratio is for every 5 youth there must be 1 adult from each church.
Will there be a transportation provided from the Denver Airport to CSU?
Yes, there is a specific NYC shuttle that runs to and from the airport at a cost per person. Details and information will be available at a later date.
Will my child need money during the week of NYC?
There will be about 5 offerings during the week, not all are monetary—there will be a list of the offerings posted. District photos, NYC shirts, sweatshirts, etc., a wrap up DVD will all be available for purchase and there will also be a Brethren Press booth with books and other things for optional. A $20 cash key deposit is required at the time of check in.
What happens if my child gets sick at NYC?
We have a full medical team on staff for the whole week and they have on record any medical information listed at the time of registration. Anyone who gets ill during the week is to report to the medical staff.
