The Brethren are a diverse people, but Brethren of all stripes find themselves united in service. We serve “for the glory of God and our neighbor’s good,” to quote one of our early leaders. It was a member of the Church of the Brethren who began the now-independent Heifer International, finding a solution to poverty that was born out of his Brethren practicality and ingenuity.

Today Brethren repair houses damaged by storms, ship relief supplies around the world, serve as volunteers in dozens of countries, and head out to work and learn through short-term workcamps. In these and other ways we seek to offer the cup of cold water in Jesus’ name. Learn more by clicking below.
