One Great Hour of Sharing
Do You Love Me? -- Feed My Sheep

Dear Pastors and Steward-leaders,
Soon each of us will have an opportunity to give to One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS)—gifts that empower the Church of the Brethren to meet basic needs throughout the world in Christ’s name, and to share resources and Good News that strengthen people and improve their lives and communities.
Through One Great Hour of Sharing, our gifts bring the blessing of compassion into our own lives, while also reaching out to others. By sharing together, we:
- build relationships and assist in projects through work camps in multi-cultural settings,
- enable immediate response to disaster victims,
- grow healthy disciples through ministries that offer wholeness in body, mind and spirit,
- provide long-term relief through partnerships that support sustainable agricultural, and
- walk with displaced brothers and sisters as they rebuild their lives.
The current economic situation is challenging for many of us. For many others, it has pushed beyond “challenging” to become life-threatening. Personally, I intend to increase my gift this year, and encourage you to consider increasing your giving as well. Heed Jesus’ call to feed his sheep with a generous—even sacrificial—gift to One Great Hour of Sharing. By sharing your resources, you will change lives, including your own.
May we in the Church respond with love, energy, and compassion that reflect Jesus’ work and example!
