One Great Hour of Sharing

Suggested offering date: March 8, 2009
One of the grace-filled gifts of being God’s children is that we are called to be God’s “treasure-tend-ers.” We tend treasures not by storing up or hoarding our resources, but by generously and lovingly sharing them with others for whom we care. That is how a blanket or seeds become wonderful gifts of caring and hope for precious people whom God loves deeply.
In the Church of the Brethren, the material treasure you share through your gifts to One Great Hour of Sharing helps us put loving faces, hands and feet “on the ground” among God’s treasured children—providing assistance and accompaniment in education, micro-loans, development work, and hunger and disaster relief.
The treasure of the heart—loving, caring about, and sharing with others—has been the Good News shared by the Church of the Brethren for three centuries. Sharing through One Great Hour of Sharing has been our tradition for 60 years! …And this greatest gift—“love”—is the treasure that satisfies most profoundly. Please give generously!
