Second Haiti workcamp continues rebuilding, funding is needed for new ‘Brethren phase’ A disaster relief workcamp visited Haiti on Oct. 24-Nov. 1. The group accomplished work on latrines for 18 families, painted 20 houses, and wired 20 houses for electricity. A total of 72 homes have been completed, with a goal of 100. The next phase is to build six homes for Brethren families at a cost of approximately $4,000 per home. Annual Conference nominations deadline Dec. 1 Nominations of candidates for open positions on the Annual Conference 2010 ballot are requested for moderator-elect plus additional leadership positions. Four qualified candidates are needed for each open position. Members of the church may nominate persons online. However, nominees should be contacted and give their permission before forms are submitted. Election forms |

Cincinnati church starts BVS volunteer community house Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS) and Cincinnati (Ohio) Church of the Brethren have partnered to open a BVS House as part of an initiative to develop community living opportunities for volunteers. Ben Walters is one of the co-pastors of the Cincinnati congregation. Walters wrote that the congregation is "building a new model of church in Cincinnati, where most of our work is outside our walls." The BVS House initiative |

Prayer concerns in Nigeria Prayer concerns from Jennifer and Nathan Hosler, Church of the Brethren mission workers in Nigeria, were sent along with their recent report on peace and reconciliation work with Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria).
