These pictures were taken by Jim Balmer, pastor of Roanoke (La.) Church of the Brethren, as he toured the area of Cameron, La., to assess damage from Hurricane Rita. He and others from the Church of the Brethren then began doing clean up work wherever possible in the area. The pictures give a glimpse of the magnitude of destruction in the small towns of southern Louisiana.
