A number of years ago, the Manchester Fellowship of Reconciliation rented a full-sized billboard and worked with the ad company that owned the sign to design a disarmament poster to be displayed on it for one month (though there were no other customers for the billboard for several months after, so our sign was left there for quite a long time). The challenge is to create a peace message in 12 words or less. Ours was "One World. Don't Blow It." The words were arranged on a black poster with a picture of earth in the middle. We used the remaining words to identify ourselves. We paid several hundred dollars, but we got good exposure.
