More than three months have passed since the 2007 International Day of Prayer for Peace organizing and events! Here is an update and an opportunity!

Click here to read more about how congregations across United States, Nigeria, and Puerto Rico, prayed for alternatives to violence opn September 21.

In late 2007 and early 2008, On Earth Peace program volunteers have been following up with the 100 congregations and communities who planned events for the International Day of Prayer for Peace in September 2007.  At this point we have contacted more than thirty of the participating communities.

  • Each of these follow-up calls is intended to support and encourage next steps for building peace in your communities.
  • If you would like to receive a support phone call, to talk about how to follow-up your International Day of Prayer for Peace activities, let us know by contacting the Peace Witness program at 503-775-1636.

On Earth Peace's Peace Witness program is committed to building capacity for nonviolence at the local level. We desire to walk with you as you continue raising your voice and animating your congregation as a witness for God's peace in the world. One of our mottoes is "organized unconditional love, overcoming evil."

Let's work together to identify how your congregation or community's peace work can continue growing!

- Matt Guynn, coordinator of peace witness
