Peace Retreat Leadership Team
The Peace Retreat Leadership Team (PRLT) is dedicated to providing quality peace education experiences for youth in the Church of the Brethren, with the long-term goal of providing these experiences to ALL CoB youth at least once during high school. On Earth Peace also seeks to encourage leadership in the church who may feel isolated in their work for peace and justice. This Leadership Team provides a source of support to one another.
Each year, On Earth Peace will call new team members from across the denomination and work to train and support this teaching group within the Church of the Brethren. Are you interested?

Get Involved! Here’s how:
- Attend a peace retreat. Come to a peace retreat as a volunteer adult advisor. This will give you a chance to get a feel for our programming. You’ll also have time to talk with current peace retreat leaders and hear about their experiences.
- If you’ve attended a peace retreat in the past five years, and feel like you already have a good feel for the program, consider attending a peace retreat leadership training. Peace retreat leadership training offers you the opportunity to build up your facilitation skills, deepen your understanding of Christian peacemaking theology and its applications, and enjoy fellowship with other Brethren peacemakers. Trainings are a full weekend long, and all participants must agree to attend the entire weekend (Friday evening-Sunday). There are two different ways to attend a peace retreat leadership training:
#1
Take the weekend-long training and commit to volunteering for On Earth Peace. If you take the training this way, you commit to organizing and/or helping lead at least one peace retreat per year for the next two years. On Earth Peace will pay for your expenses. Contact Marie for more information.
#2
Take the weekend-long training as a course. Pastors can earn Continuing Education Units. Lay leaders can take the training, too! If you take the training this way, you are responsible for paying your own expenses as well as a fee. Contact Marie for more information.
Please note: All peace retreat leaders must agree to participate in child safety screenings. |
