Annual Conference celebrates love feast

“Draw nigh to God and receive these sacred symbols to your comfort.”

With these traditional words, Annual Conference moderator Donita Keister invited all who were present–delegates and nondelegates alike–to receive communion during an afternoon love feast. It was the first time in many decades that the whole Conference has celebrated love feast together.

The two-hour service was the closing event of business and a worshipful conclusion to the compelling vision conversations. It included the four elements of self-examination, feetwashing, a simple meal, and a service of communion. Presiding were moderator Keister, moderator-elect Paul Mundey, and past moderator Samuel Sarpiya.
