Iglesia de los Hermanos — Una Luz En Las Naciones (Church of the Brethren — a Light to the Nations) has congregations throughout Spain and on the Canary Island of Lanzarote. Outreach efforts include community gardens and work with youth and those addicted to drugs and alcohol. A US-based advisory council consults with Spanish Brethren leaders on church organization, leadership development, and theological training opportunities.

EDF grants support international COVID-19 responses and flooding response in the DRC (May 1, 2020)

The staff of Brethren Disaster Ministries have directed several grants from the Church of the Brethren’s Emergency Disaster Fund (EDF) to COVID-19 responses by sister churches and groups in Haiti, Spain, and Ecuador, as well as to response to flooding in the Democratic Republic of Congo. International perspectives - Spain: ‘Our seven churches are safe’ (April 11, 2020)

Santos Terrero of Iglesia de los Hermanos “Una Luz en las Naciones” (the Church of the Brethren in Spain) wrote from Gijón on April 3 to report on their situation. At the time, Spain had the second-highest number of deaths related to coronavirus and more than 10,000 people had died, second only to Italy among European countries in terms of fatalities caused by the virus. ESPANA 2025: Congregations in Spain work on a new strategy plan (July 29, 2019)

Close to 65 people gathered for 2 full days to brainstorm about the future of the church of the Brethren in Spain under the theme “Un Lider Para las Naciones” (a leader for the nations) The idea of this gathering was in the making since the last Mission Alive conference where leaders from Spain first heard about becoming a global Church of the Brethren. Global Food Initiative issues grants for community gardens, agriculture initiatives (April 20, 2018)

The Global Food Initiative of the Church of the Brethren has given a number of grants in the first few months of 2018 to support community gardening efforts, agriculture initiatives, and other work to support food security in a variety of areas across the globe.
