  • Of Frogs and Men - A conversation between graduating college friends, one heading into his career, the other into volunteer service.
  • Just Don't Do It - This reading is the transcript from real-life correspondence between Nike and a person who wished to take advantage of an offer called "Nike iD" which allows customers to personalize their Nike shoes.
  • One Man's Witness: Ted Studebaker in Vietnam - This dramatic reading traces the life of Ted Studebaker, from his early years in Ohio through his service in Brethren Volunteer Service in Vietnam, to his death in April 1971 at the hands of North Vietnamese soldiers.
  • The Predicament - This drama highlights the problem and complexity of child exploitation in the world by comparing the experiences of two young women whose lives intersect in a moment of decision.
  • The Prodigal Son—Present Tense - A retelling of the story of the prodigal son in a way that challenges the way we treat people who fail in some aspect of life, but who are still forgiven by God.

  • Psalm 8: Then and Now - A reflection to be read by two readers on the dominant role humans now play in our world, to the point of exalting themselves in a way that should be reserved for God.
  • If Koala's Were King - A reading intertwining the creation story of Genesis 1 with a commentary on the role of human beings as stewards of God's world.
  • When Mother Calls - This environmental play emphasizes the call to respect and nurture the earth.

  • A Tale of Two Children - A story about two children from very different parts of the world, and about how their lives come together in a moment of sharing.
  • The Client - A reflection on the story of the rich man and Lazarus for three readers.
  • I Was Hungry Today - A reading about hunger awareness for two readers.

Old Testament

New Testament

  • Birth Announcement - A chancel drama for three readers.
  • Listening to the Word of God - As one person tries to read the section of the Sermon on the Mount about loving one's enemies, another reader interrupts to remind listeners of the challenges of that teaching in today's world.
  • LIVE from the wilderness, it's Jesus on the Mount of Temptation - First presented at National Youth Conference, this reading is a contemporary retelling of Jesus' being tempted in the wilderness at the beginning of his ministry.
  • No Room at the (Comfort) Inn - This skit retells Jesus' encounter with the rich, young ruler (Matthew 19:16-30) from the disciples' point of view.
  • One Good Question... - A reading on Jesus' healing of the man on the Sabbath for four readers.
  • Raising the Roof - This short skit is written for use by Junior High and Senior High groups to dramatize, in a humorous way, the story of the friends who carried the paralyzed man to see Jesus.
  • "Where he leads me I will follow..." - In this skit, four readers portray disciples of Jesus as their Lord makes a trip through Samaria.
