No Child Left Behind - By Military Recruiters
Dear parents or guardians, The No Child Left Behind Act and the National Defense Authorization Act of 2002 requires high schools to provide to military recruiters, upon request, access to secondary school students and directory information on those students. In accordance with those Acts, military recruiters are entitled to receive the name address, and telephone listing of juniors and seniors in high school. Providing this information is also consistent with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. If you do not wish the Ithaca City School District to release your child's name, address, and phone number, you must complete and return this form to your school office by March 7, 2003. This notice must be filed each year. Please print: Student's name I hereby request that the Ithaca City School District prevent the release of my child's name, address, and phone number to military recruiters.
