CPT has an opening for a full-time person to support and expand our outreach activities in the USA and other regions outside of Canada.

Responsibilities and necessary qualities, experiences and skills are listed in the job description below. The CPT support team strongly prefers this position to be based in the CPT Chicago office. Compensation is a subsistence stipend based on need.

While CPT experience is preferred, persons with the required experience and skills who have not been members of CPT may apply. See www.cpt.org for background about CPT. If chosen as the most promising applicant, such an individual will be invited to participate in a CPT delegation and month-long training and discernment process prior to finalizing appointment to this position.

CPT is engaged in the process of deepening organization-wide commitment and action to undo racism and is working towards becoming a more diverse community. As with every Support Team position, factors other than job-specific skills and experience may b taken into account to meet these goals. Members of indigenous or racialized groups are encouraged to apply.

Job Description: CPT Outreach Coordinator

1. CPT USA Outreach Coordination (60% time)

2. CPT Outreach Coordination for areas outside the USA and Canada (10 % time)

3. Serve as Support Team member: Participate in office meetings and responsibilities, Support Team meetings, work with Steering Committee and CPT trainings as needed, fill in for team mates who are on vacation, on project or leave, etc. (10% time)

4. Serve as CPTer: Participate annually as a member of a project team (1 month a year). Stay up to date on CPT as a whole. Participate in Fulltimer's retreat. (10 % time)

5. Other (up to 10% time): Depending on the gifts and interest of the person and CPT's needs, this position will carry additional responsibilities in one of the following areas:

The Outreach Coordinator is a full-time position with the general expectation of 40 hours per week. The normal working hours of CPT are flexible but demanding. Weekend work and evening work will be frequent. Working hours will expand considerably during times of crisis or on-site visits. The Coordinator should negotiate time off after such intense events are completed. Compensation is a subsistence stipend based on need. The appointment will be for a period of three years.
