Following worship, water is carried from the worship center well and poured into foot washing tubs set on the plaza outside the Coliseum. Worshipers are invited to dip their hands into the water as an act of blessing at the closing of the 300th Anniversary Conference. The well water is a mix of the waters collected during the Sunday morning worship service: water from the Eder River in Schwarzenau, Germany, where the first Brethren baptisms took place; water from Wissahickon Creek in Philadelphia, where the first baptisms in the Americas took place; and water from each district in the Church of the Brethren and the Brethren Church.
