| 2000 Annual Conference moderator Emily Mumma introduces and explains the work of the denomination's InterAgency Forum (IAF). |
Nearly three dozen interest groups were scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at NOAC, covering a wide variety of church-related topics. The 12 held on Tuesday included "Writing Your Life Story," "Living with Disabilities," and "The Best Way to Approach the Green," on retirement plans.
By far the largest one on Tuesday was a panel on "The State of the Church," scheduled for a special evening slot. Executives of each Annual Conference agency and other members of the denomination's InterAgency Forum fielded questions from the audience. Those questions included how congregations should shape their outreach to the many existing agencies, praise for the new "Many Gifts, One Spirit" brochure with a request for more copies, and seeking information about the InterAgency Forum's work and structure. Panelists said coordination, communication, and sharing priorities were key goals. The forum held meetings at NOAC on Tuesday and will continue Wednesday.
