Richard Rader of Fincastle, Va., watches his toss land as the horseshoes tournament begins Thursday.

The youngest and oldest official NOAC attendees for this year were recognized Thursday. Linda Fisher of Lewistown, Pa., left, was the youngest, having just turned 50 last month. Ruby Witter, 95, of North Manchester, Ind., earned the "NOAC's oldest" award.

A large group came together when everyone who had attended all five National Older Adult Conferences to date was asked to gather for a group picture.

ABC staff member Scott Douglas, left, is "watered" by Kent Naylor on the stage Thursday as Naylor plugged the conference's unique receptacles for giving donations.

Excerpts from "NOAC Notes," edited by Fred Swartz:

*NOACers have responded to the challenge to keep on bearing fruit through their offerings and service this week. Wednesday's offering was $4,429.48, and an additional $167.45 was collected from the watering cans. ... In addition, 300 school and health kits have been assembled in the service project this week, with the help of more than 60 NOACers. Thanks also go to those who prepared and brought completed kits to NOAC, to those who contributed money ($575.00) to get supplies, and to Jay Crist ad Glenn Kinsel, who will transport the kits to New Windsor.

*A new feature of the video news segments this week has been interviews with NOACers who are literally "Still Bearing Fruit, Still Fresh and Green." The segments have reminded conference participants of the many ways some of their colleagues are continuing to live this lifestyle. Those participating in the interviews are Elain Sollenberger, who introduced the series; Wil and Maud Lengel, Joe and Ferne Schechter, Glenn and Helen Kinsel, Don and Joyce Parker, Floyd and Kathleen Mitchell, Glendon and Wanda Button, and Hazel Peteres. Don and Eleanor Rowe have been the segment producers.
