SPECIAL EVENTS
Several special events were held on Monday, including a vigil protesting sanctions against Iraq, an issue currently being addressed by the Church of the Brethren Washington Office; a presentation by Christian Peacemaker Teams of toy stores in the Kansas City area that fared best and worst on a CPT survey of the violence level of toys being sold; a joint worship service - being held each day - by Womaen's Caucus, Christian PeacemakerTeams, and Brethren Mennonite Council for Lesbian and Gay Concerns; the Brethren Benefit Trust Fitness Challenge 5K run/walk in a nearby suburb; a special meeting of youth pastors in the denomination; and several support groups.
