The Global Food Crisis Fund (GFCF) is the primary means by which the Church of the Brethren assists hungry people in developing food security programs. Whether your gift is an individual contribution, an ongoing 2¢-a-meal collection at the family table, the offering of an entire congregation or camp, or a one-time gift or memorial in honor of a loved one, your support of the Global Food Crisis Fund upholds the biblical injunction to put the least and last first and to lift the burden of the oppressed.

For over 20 years the Global Food Crisis Fund has provided grants totaling upwards of $350,000 annually to send seeds, livestock, and tools to help hungry people feed themselves. It invests in small-scale economic development, undergirds efforts to improve diet and health practices, champions soil conservation measures, and promotes resources for study and advocacy on hunger issues.

The Global Food Crisis Fund joins with other programs of the General Board and with ecumenical and community initiatives to live out the call to do justice, to help one’s neighbor, and to “draw out your soul to the hungry,” as one translation of Isaiah 58:10 puts it.
