Stewardship Education Resources

Stewardship Resources Loaner Library

The purpose of this loaning library is twofold: (1) to make resources available to congregational or district leaders for review in order to determine if they wish to purchase the resource for use in the local/district level, and (2) to provide study resources for pastors for professional growth in all areas of Christian stewardship. These resources are listed by stewardship category and their intended audience, but many are holistic and fit into several categories. A brief description of content is included to help you determine items you may wish to borrow.

Process and expectations: When you wish to borrow resources, please contact Joy Willrett at 1-800-323-8039, ext. 208. You may borrow up to six resources at one time, for a period of six weeks. Your only cost will be return postage to Joy Willrett, General Board Offices, 1451 Dundee Avenue, Elgin, IL 60120. A reminder notice will be sent to the borrower after five weeks. After eight weeks, the borrower will be automatically charged for the replacement cost of any unreturned books.

Stewardship Inserts

Many of us think of "stewardship" as though it is only about money. One writer has said, , “Stewardship is everything I do after I say, ‘I believe!’” How deeply true this is: As people claimed by and receiving Christ, we are called daily - in every way - to make responsible and Christ-like choices about how we manage all aspects of our lives. Each group of photocopy-ready bulletin inserts lifts up a wide variety of whole-life stewardship themes and gives you materials to assist in providing year-long reflections and opportunities for conversation or study.

The inserts are designed to be flexible in use, and intergenerational in scope. "Choices" is recommended for beginning the series. Beyond this, other ideas for use include:

  • Duplicate and distribute one per month to help your members ‘think stewardship’ all year.
  • Use them on consecutive Sundays if you are planning a whole-life stewardship emphasis over a shorter period of time.
  • Share them as discussion-starters for study groups or classes.

(If your congregation does not have photocopying ability, a limited number of pre-printed copies are available. Call Lillian Dako at 1-800-323-8039.
