Be a part of helping low income families become home owners! Lancaster Area Habitat for Humanity seeks (A) Assistant Construction Coordinator for house construction. Duties include carpentry, electrical wiring, concreting, shingling roofs, scheduling and managing volunteers. Requirements: Basic home construction skills, able to follow instructions, communication skills, strong physical ability, self motivator, Spanish skills a plus. (B) Community Relations Assistant. Duties include assisting staff in development, public relations, marketing and volunteer recruitment, research, coordinating and participating in public speaking and exhibit opportunities. Requirements: Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, writing skills, capability of handling multiple assignments. Spanish, graphic design, database or website development skills a plus. (C) Family Services Assistant. Duties include greet clients and visitors, assist Family Services Director with distribution and intake of applications, recording sweat equity hours, attending home visits, preparation of educational workshops, communication with potential clients and homeowners. Coordinate home dedications, publicity, mailings and newsletters. Assist the Home Repair Manager with distribution and intake of applications, attending home visits, coordination of construction. All clerical duties such as filing, phone calls word processing related to Family Services and Home Repairs. Other duties may become available according to the interest and skills of the volunteer. Requirements: High school diploma or GED, good “people” skills, ability to handle multiple assignments, excellent communication and organizational skills, familiar with Microsoft Office, comfort using telephone and email for business communication.
