Another Way of Believing: A Brethren Theology, by Dale Brown. Brown, a former professor of theology and noted Anabaptist church historian, provides an in-depth and thought provoking study of the various ways Brethren "do theology" by their everyday living. A useful book for both the academic and lay reader.
Church of the Brethren: Yesterday and Today, by Donald Durnbaugh. This collection of interpretive essays traces the development of the church from its beginnings in Europe to the present day. Key aspects of Brethren life are emphasized.
Caring Like Jesus: The Matthew 18 Project, by Daniel Ulrich and Janice Fairchild. What would it mean if we each were to live out Jesus’ teachings as found in Matthew 18? A radically changed community of faith!
Brethren Society: The Cultural Transformation of the “Peculiar People,” by Carl Bowman. This book studies the historical beliefs and practices in the Church of the Brethren in the context of mainstream American culture.
